Our mission is to provide high quality, reliable information,
and support to Black cancer patients.
Our vision is that every person of African descent who is a cancer survivor in the Phoenix Metropolitan area will have access to high-quality information, support, and resources to assist them in their cancer journey. Furthermore, through the efforts of these survivors, the Black population within the Phoenix metropolitan area will become more aware of cancer prevention, screening, and treatment.
Mark Your Calendar for the 2026 CBAC Fundraiser
This September, the Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer (CBAC) invites you to join us for Under the Tuscan Sun, our signature fundraiser, re-imagined this year as a brunch! Join us on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at The Camby Hotel in Phoenix, to honor cancer survivors, recognize community members and organizations making a real difference, and raise vital funds that make our work possible
For more than 15 years, CBAC has been a steadfast force in the Phoenix metropolitan area and beyond— educating the community on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment, and connecting survivors and their families to critical resources.
Every ticket purchased and every sponsorship secured goes directly toward CBAC's programs — survivor outreach, health education, financial assistance, and community wellness. Together, we can expand our reach, deepen our impact, and make sure that no one in our community faces a cancer diagnosis without a network standing behind them. We sincerely hope you will join us.

Our mission
The Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer (CBAC) is an Arizona 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide high quality, reliable information and support to Black cancer patients, and to educate the Black community about cancer prevention, diagnosis, and screening. CBAC also provides resources and support through the Coalition of Blacks Against Breast Cancer (CBBC) and the Coalition of Blacks Against Prostate Cancer (CBPC).
Dr. Sarah E. James, President
Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer
Our commitment
The survival rate for Black Americans has historically lagged behind other ethnic groups. The CBBC and CBPC are groups specifically for Black women and men with breast cancer and prostate cancer, respectively. The goal of the CBAC is to provide accurate and current information related to cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment through our website, social media channels, monthly meetings, outreach, and educational programming.
